Biography
Dr. Ming Zhao is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, working under the supervision of Professor Lianzhou Wang since March 2026. Prior to that, he obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering and Technology at Beijing University of Technology, under the joint supervision of Professors Jieshan Qiu and Shimou Chen. After, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University under the supervision of Professor Jun Lu.
His research focused on liquid/gel/solid electrolytes chemistry and electrodes interface design in aqueous and non-aqueous batteries, especially on interfacial chemical and electrochemical behaviors, charge-mass transfer kinetics, and process reinforcement under extreme conditions (wide temperature range, high/low pressure, strong impact, low vacuum, open environment, mechanical conditions, etc.).
Research Interests
Ø Ionic liquid-based electrolytes and solid-state electrolytes
Ø Halogen conversion and redox chemistry in batteries
Ø Gel/polymer electrolytes and flexible battery devices
Ø Extreme batteries
